Since I have been blogging about child safety in Youngstown City School’s and the carelessness of the school board officials, many have reached out to me. I was also curious about a place where parents can get together online to express their concerns about child safety and their experiences. Not surprising to me is there is no where one parent can read a report that another parent made. There is no where a parent can go to get unbiased reports about the safety and well being of their children. Most parents are under the illusion that the school board cares about their child’s safety at all costs. This could not be further from the truth in Youngstown.
The Problem with Undocumented Reports
Several parents have messaged me, emailed me about horrible things that have happened to their children. I was appalled and horrified. If I had these reports before I agreed to let Faith McCullough attend the Youngstown School’s there would be no way in hell I would let her attend something so dangerous. What is even more impressive is the fact that there is no way to prove that you as a parent called and reported the problem. It seems school officials and the school board do not want you to know that information. Here are some of the things that parents have reported to me about their children after this horrible experience.
- 7 Year old gets dropped off at wrong bus stop.
- School bus driver taking off while child is still trying to get to his seat causing him to go to the hospital for neck injuries.
- Bus driver hits child, parent reports it to principal no action taken.
These are just three of several important pieces of information that I wish I had before I let my children attend this school.
The Faith McCullough Foundation website is a place where parents can report and share what is going on in their school district. The other great thing about this is that the school district themselves can respond to these reports. All reports are emailed to the person that made the report with a special link in it where they can check the status of the report 24/7. The other great thing about this is that it is a third party which is documenting the complaint that a parent makes about their childrens safety. These reports may be used in a court of law as well to hold negligent people responsible for negligent actions.
